Chapter Awards

  • Distinguished Chapter/Stan Soderstrom Outstanding Achievement: These awards are created to recognize those chapters in the Texas-Oklahoma District who have gone above and beyond to serve their communities, instill a sense of leadership in the club’s membership, and recognize the importance of fellowship.

  • Hunter Faubion Outstanding Chapter Improvement: This award is presented to the chapter in the Texas-Oklahoma District that has demonstrated the greatest degree of growth and improvement from the previous year.

  • Outstanding New Chapter: This award is given to a newly chartered chapter that has gone above and beyond to represent CKI and our tenets.

Chapter Recognition

  • Outstanding Membership Development & Education: This award is presented to the CKI chapter that excels in the area of membership retention, development, public relations, and chapter growth.

  • Patrick Sims Outstanding Newsletter: This award is presented to a CKI chapter that regularly produces a high-quality newsletter that serves as an effective communication tool for the chapter and its members.

  • Outstanding Website:This award is presented to a CKI chapter that regularly maintained a high quality website that serves as an effective communication tool for the chapter, its members and any prospective members or website guests.

  • Outstanding Public Relations & Outreach: This award is presented to a CKI chapter that effectively communicates to the chapter, its members and any prospective members through the use of social media, flyers, newspapers, and general goodwill activities to promote the chapter.

  • Outstanding Video: This award is presented to the top chapter that produces a high-quality, creative and innovative video promoting CKI.

  • Outstanding Traditional Scrapbook: This award is presented to the top chapter that produces a high-quality, creative and innovative scrapbook chronicling the activities of the CKI chapter for the year.

  • Outstanding Non-Traditional Scrapbook:This award is presented to the top chapter that produces a high-quality, creative and innovative non-traditional scrapbook chronicling the activities of the CKI chapter for the year.

  • Outstanding Chapter T-Shirt: This award is presented to the top chapter that has designed a creative, innovative and eye-catching t-shirt promoting CKI.

  • TEQUILA's Meme of the Year: Named after T-O's Mascot T.E.Q.U.I.L.A the Armadillo, this award recognizes a chapter with the most creative meme from the year to commemorate together that everyone's qualities unite in lasting accomplishments.

Chapter Service Awards

  • Outstanding Service Partner Involvement: This award is presented to the top chapter that has organized and performed the best overall chapter service project involving CKI preferred charities.

  • Outstanding Single Service Project: This award is presented to the top chapter that, through dedication and unselfish efforts, has organized and performed the best overall chapter single service project.

  • Outstanding District Project Involvement: This award is presented to the top chapter that has dedicated their efforts to a project benefitting the designated District Project for the current CKI year.

  • Outstanding Governor's Project Involvement: This award is present to the chapter who has gone above and beyond with their involvement with the designated Governor’s project for the current CKI year.

Advisor & Kiwanis Family Awards

  • Walt Parker Outstanding Kiwanis Family Relations: This award is presented to a CKI chapter that has shown excellence in their Kiwanis Family Relations by maintaining a strong relationship with their local Kiwanis Clubs, Aktion Clubs, Key Clubs, Builders Clubs, and K-Kids Clubs.

  • Outstanding Sponsoring Kiwanis Club: This award is presented to the Kiwanis Club who services their community by sponsoring a CKI chapter and exemplifies the spirit of fellowship within the Kiwanis Family. To a Kiwanis Club, this is Texas-Oklahoma CKI’s highest honor. A Kiwanis Club may be nominated by a CKI club or by an individual CKI member.

  • Dennis Hodgkiss Advisor of the Year: This award was established in 1979 to honor an outstanding Kiwanis or Faculty Advisor who has been a valuable resource and liaison for a CKI chapter and CKI in general. This person exemplifies the spirit of fellowship in his or her actions and words.

  • Fred & Dottie Seals Circle of Service: This award is modeled after the Circle of Service Award presented by CKI. The first recipients, Fred and Dottie, were great supporters of many generations of CKI members. This award is given to a non-CKI member who exemplifies the spirit of service, leadership, and fellowship who has made the most outstanding contribution to the the Texas-Oklahoma district. This can include a Kiwanian, a spouse of a Kiwanian that is not a member of Kiwanis, CKI alumni, a Faculty/Staff member of the college/university, etc.

  • The Humanitarian Award: The Humanitarian Award is designed to recognize one individual annually whose efforts on behalf of others have significantly contributed to the betterment of the world. Any individual who has had a positive impact on humanity is eligible to receive this award.

Chapter Officer Awards

  • Howard H. Hendrick Leadership Award: The Howard H. Hendrick Award is presented to a CKI chapter president who demonstrates excellence in their role. This award illustrates the distinguished president's dedication, participation, and contributions to CKI.

  • Outstanding Vice-President: This award is presented to a CKI Vice-President who demonstrates excellence in his or her role. The award illustrates the distinguished vice-president’s dedications, participation and contributions to CKI.

  • Outstanding Secretary: This award is presented to a CKI Secretary who demonstrates excellence in his or her role. The award illustrates the distinguished secretary’s dedication, participation, and contributions to CKI.

  • Outstanding Secretary-Treasurer: This award is presented to a CKI Secretary-Treasurer who demonstrates excellence in his or her role. The award illustrates the distinguished secretary-treasurer’s dedication, participation, and contributions to CKI.

  • Scott Kimball Outstanding Treasurer: This award is presented to a CKI Treasurer who demonstrates excellence in his or her role. The award illustrates the distinguished treasurer’s dedication participation and contributions to CKI.

  • Outstanding Editor: This award is presented to a CKI Editor who demonstrates excellence in his or her role. The award illustrates the distinguished editor’s dedication, participation and contributions to CKI.

  • Outstanding Committee Chairperson: This award is presented to a CKI Committee Chairperson who demonstrates excellence in his or her role. The award illustrates the distinguished committee chairperson’s dedication, participation and contributions to CKI.

Member Recognition Awards

  • Society of Distinguished Collegians

  • T-O Hall of Fame: The T-O Hall of Fame Award recognizes a distinguished member of Circle K International who, through the years of dedication, commitment, and service, have exemplified the tenets, principles, and motto of the organization and have made significant contributions to the Texas-Oklahoma District of Circle K International.

  • Tim Clipson People Builder: This award is presented to a CKI member of the Texas-Oklahoma District who, through their contributions and achievements, has demonstrated outstanding dedication to the principles and ideals of CKI. This person would be described by peers as a “people builder” and is known by their peers to be a positive role model and friend.

  • Outstanding New Member: This award is presented to a new member of a CKI chapter who has gone above and beyond to exemplify the tenets or service, leadership and fellowship in his or her home chapter.

  • Oratorical Contest: This contest is designed to encourage members to share their attitudes, beliefs and experiences regarding the organization through a prepared speech. The top member that produces a high-quality, creative and innovative speech promoting CKI through the topic will be recognized.

  • Impromptu Essay: This contest is designed to encourage members to share their attitudes, beliefs and experiences regarding the organization through an impromptu essay. The member that produces a high-quality, creative and well-written essay that follows the given topic will be recognized.

  • Talent Show: For years, CKI members from across the district were invited to showcase their individual or group talents at the annual district convention. This award is presented to CKI member(s) for presenting the best talent based in the district.
